When Jonathan Anderson comes to town, people pretend school nights don’t exist. Kicking off his New York tour, the creative director of Loewe joined Creative Time in hosting a jazz-filled affair to celebrate Charles Gaines’ new public artwork on Governor’s Island. The fun definitely didn’t stop there.
Of course, his spring 2023 collection traveled to Manhattan as well, which sparked a perfect opportunity for friends and editors to revisit their favorite looks up close. Following the press day, Anderson invited a select group to preview his latest project, the Loewe perfume debut store. Situated in the beauty hall at esteemed luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman, the fragrance store is the brand’s first home in North America.
Even as the rain poured down, Anderson kept spirits high by continuing the celebrations over an intimate dinner at Stephan Weiss Studios on Monday night. Guests including Marcos Fecchino, Derek Blasberg, Jeanne Cadieu, Linda Fargo, Alexander Roth, Deon Hinton, Isabelle Caput, Nelson Tiberghien, Paige Stables, Kailand Morris, Max Tarido, Anaa Saber, Willa Bennett, and Tanner Reese all turned up to toast the latest collection of nature-inspired perfumes.
Nestled in the heart of the West Village, the airy space felt especially festive and cozy dressed in colorful Loewe blankets and decor. Candles in all shapes and sizes offered sparks of warmth and deliciously earthy scents.
On the table, an almost too-pretty-to-eat assortment of seasoned butter paired with crispy crackers was a welcomed first course. A potato tart topped with salmon roe was a savory way to start the main courses, which included tuna Crudo and a decadent roasted pumpkin. Ending the night on a sweet note, mini lychee cakes arrived at every seat just before guests bid the night adieu.
From the sight to smell, taste to touch, and the sound of guests’ laughter, this Loewe evening was a sensory experience unlike any other.\
